How long does the migration take?
Most practices are live within 14 days from the discovery call. Solo practices are often faster — under a week. Multi-site clinics with deep claim history can run 3–4 weeks, but you're never on the hook for the timeline; your migration specialist is.
Will my data import cleanly?
Yes. We handle patient charts, scheduling, signed notes, claim history (including paid/denied claims and ERAs), saved templates, intake forms, and assessment scores. If your current EHR has a non-standard export, we extract field-by-field. We validate every record before cutover.
Is migration really free?
Yes — included on every plan, including the free trial. No setup fees, no per-record charges, no per-claim conversion fees. A dedicated migration specialist is part of the product, not an upsell.
Can I keep my old EHR running during the transition?
Yes. Your old platform stays read-only for 30 days after cutover as a safety net — your team can still pull any historical record they need. New activity (sessions, notes, claims) runs in Mediyn from day one.
What about claims that are mid-flight when I switch?
We import your in-flight claims with full status (submitted, pending, paid, denied, ERA returned). Aging and AR continuity are preserved. New 837P submissions start from Mediyn the day you go live; tracked 276/277 status keeps you covered on legacy claims.
Will my patients notice the change?
Yes — positively. They get magic-link portal access (no password reset emails), personalized worksheets after each session, and modern telehealth. Their appointment history, intake forms, and payment methods all carry over. Most patients don't know an EHR switch happened — only that their experience got better.
I have a multi-year contract with my current EHR. What do I do?
Run both for the overlap if you have to — Mediyn won't require you to break your existing contract. Most practices end up canceling early once they see the cost difference; we'll write a comparison summary for your records if it helps.
What if my data is messy or stuck in paper?
Paper records: your migration specialist arranges a scanning + OCR workflow with structured intake. Messy digital data: we clean it during the import (deduplication, address normalization, code mapping). You don't carry the cleanup work yourself.
